What is a soft laser?
The soft laser – also called a low-level laser or acupuncture laser – emits a gentle, focused beam of light with a very low output. Unlike surgical lasers, it does not generate heat that damages tissue. In pain medicine, low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is used as a supplementary measure, for instance to stimulate circulation and cell metabolism.
We use the Soft laser / acupuncture laser 6/6s with an output of 5 mW. For smoking cessation it is used to stimulate points known from ear and body acupuncture, which are traditionally associated with addictive behaviour, inner restlessness and appetite.
How the laser application works
- Choosing the points: Depending on your smoking habits, we choose the appropriate points on the ear, the hands and the face.
- Stimulation: Each point is exposed to the laser for a few seconds. You feel nothing, or a slight warmth.
- Combination: The laser application supplements the bioresonance session – together they make up our “Stop Smoking Plus” package.
Important: There is no established scientific proof of effectiveness for laser acupuncture in smoking cessation. We use it as a supplementary, pleasant building block – not as a guarantee.
When is the soft laser not suitable?
We do not use the laser application during pregnancy, in cases of known light sensitivity, while taking light-sensitising medication, or with skin conditions or tumours in the area of application. Please let us know in the preliminary talk.

Questions about the soft laser
Frequently asked questions about laser smoking cessation
Is laser smoking cessation painful?
No. The soft laser works with a very low output (5 mW). Most people feel nothing at all, or at most a slight warmth. No needles are used.
What is the difference from acupuncture?
In classical acupuncture, needles are inserted. With the soft laser – often also called “laser acupuncture” – the same points are stimulated with light. That is needle-free and more pleasant for people who are afraid of needles.
Is laser light dangerous?
A low-level laser does not generate heat that damages tissue. As with any laser, you must not look directly into the beam – which is why you wear protective goggles for applications in the facial area.
Can I book the soft laser on its own?
With us the soft laser is part of the “Stop Smoking Plus” package and is combined with the bioresonance application. Do feel free to talk to us if you would like a different combination.
